Nordstrom Bistro Cafe is a little hidden gem inside several Nordstrom stores around Saint Louis malls. We were lucky to come across this restaurant while shopping at the Galleria one day and were thrilled with what we found! This is definitely a step up from the food court options you usually find in the malls.

Being gluten free and having a giant sweet tooth can be tricky, especially when it comes to finding good desserts out. But then we discovered SweetArt, a bakery focusing on using real ingredients that offers a daily gluten free cupcake. Yep you heard right, gluten free cupcakes EVERY DAY! Don’t get us wrong, they also have great food, but we keep coming back for the cupcakes.
This post is long overdue! This past Fall I celebrated my birthday here at the suggestion of a friend. I thoroughly enjoyed the delicious, local food. This restaurant gets top ratings for quality, service and atmosphere. I recommend it with no reservation, especially for a special occasion meal. Ice’s Plain and Fancy is a fairly new, locally owned ice cream shop. They are very unique in the fact that they make their ice cream right in front of you using liquid hydrogen. We finally made it back to Local Harvest Cafe, located near Tower Grove Park. We combined our trip with a visit to their famous outdoor Farmer’s Market and a bike ride through Forest Park! We had been here once before with and were quite impressed with the quality of the food, but the service was quite slow. Going back, the service could not have been more prompt and the food was just as delicious as we remembered it to be! We visited Saturday for brunch, but were advised that Sundays can be a bit more crowded. We were also advised by our knowledgeable and delightful waitress that the restaurant experienced major ownership changes a couple of years ago, which could have explained the change in service.

If you’re one of the many yoga fanatics who enjoy a super smoothie or vegan bite after a re-energizing yoga session, you’ll LOVE PuraVegan! This place is a yoga studio with a 100% vegan and gluten free restaurant conveniently located next door. It was recommended to us multiple times by relatives, friends, and owners of other restaurants, so we were very excited to finally check it out for ourselves. Their somewhat restricted hours conflicted with our availability, making it a challenge to visit, but it was well worth the wait. Since our first visit we have been back several times to try out more of the delicious menu items, and have been very happy with their range of options. We also recently discovered that one of our relatives is a chef here and are pleased to announce that we are related to the genius behind some of their wonderful dishes!

Winslow’s Home is a unique restaurant dedicated to providing fresh and local foods. How fresh is it? A lot of the produce comes straight from their own garden, into the kitchen, and on to our plates. It’s a great sit down restaurant, but they also sell a range of other items from baked goods to cool home decor.

Taste is a small trendy restaurant and bar in the Central West End that has a limited menu of small plates and a larger menu of drinks. This is a great spot to check out during a night out with some friends to grab some drinks and a light bite to eat. Their food is very creative and always changing to keep it exciting!

After seeing a booth from I Scream Cakes at the Saint Louis Fair Festival this past summer and trying a delicious vegan, gluten free, AND organic ice cream cone, I have been dying to visit their store and see what they have to offer! We were so excited to discover this local ice cream shop and enjoyed tasting their delicious treats! It was a fun end to a day of eating and walking around the Botanical Gardens!
