The relatively new Olive Street Cafe in Creve Coeur is making an effort to use local Saint Louis products, accommodate gluten free diners and serve a delicious, varied menu for breakfast and lunch. Not to mention that it’s super exciting to have somewhere new open up that isn’t downtown or in Forest Park!
Their specific food items that deserves a shout out includes their wild salmon, organic tea with an option of stevia as a sweetener, and spinach which is cooked in coconut oil. The restaurant also makes a special effort to use local products including Kaldi’s coffee, Breadsmith’s bread, and Schlafly Beer.
And for those avoiding gluten, they offer gluten free bread options including a bagel which is always a treat!
They do use the commonly used vegetable cooking sprays, but will cook eggs in butter if requested.
The service is good and the restaurant is managed by long time successful Saint Louis food industry experts. Due to its convenient location, I have dined here with family and friends on several occasions, always enjoying my dining experience.
