Noodles & Company is a chain that is working to start transitioning to get more local and fresh ingredients. For now we would like to give them our very first shout out because of their innovative and creative allergen friendly menu, and the small steps that they are making to be more eco-friendly and have higher quality ingredients!
The few organic options that they have are their organic tofu, milk, and tea. As for the healthier protein options, their pork is antibiotic and growth hormone free and vegetarian fed, and the eggs are from hens that are cage free. Their regular pasta is gmo-free and made with hard amber durum wheat. Their regular gluten free pasta is made of a blend of corn and rice, which is not organic or gmo-free, and their rice noodles are made fresh in Thailand!
This restaurant has menu items for those that are gluten free, vegan, vegetarian, watching fat or sodium, or are just looking for a lower calorie option. Their website has an awesome nutirition sorter that lets you see which of their menu items fit your personal dietary needs!
They are also very flexible about altering any dish due to allergies or just personal taste preference. One great thing is that you can substitute rice noodles or gluten free pasta for any dish if you are avoiding gluten!
Update (2016): Noodles and Co now offers Buff Bowls, basically meaning that they can replace the pasta in a dish with more vegetables and fresh spinach. This is great as a gluten free, low carb, or just overall healthier option!
Tried and True Favorites:
- Pad Thai
- Bangkok Curry Buff Bowl
- Wisconsin Mac & Cheese made Gluten Free
It is nice that you can pick up food to go if you are in a rush, and the prices are very reasonable! Each entree ranges from around $5 to $8.
There are a couple locations around Saint Louis including Creve Coeur, Delmar, South County, Des Peres, Chesterfield, and Hampton Village.
