Revel Kitchens is a restaurant located in the revived Cherokee Street neighborhood, near our favorite I Scream Cakes and Whisks Bakery. They serve an enticing menu of delicious local menu items including egg dishes, sandwiches and salads. Their focus is on healthy and local food items. Their entire menu is gluten free, which is wonderful for those with gluten sensitivities. They are famous for providing healthy foods to fortify several famous Saint Louis professional athletes. They provide delivered meals, along with the food available at their restaurant.

We ordered the gluten free french toast and omelette from their brunch menu on the Sunday that we visited .
Both were delicious, with generous portions and delicious seasoning and flavoring. The omelette contained black beans, greens and goat cheese ( we opted out of the unhealthy soy protein) and was topped with guacamole, giving it an unusual, but excellent taste.
We want to return to taste some of their other enticing menu items, including their home made Kombucha, a personal favorite for me.
Tried and True Favorites:
- Brussels Bites
- Moroccan Sweet Potatoes
- Mediterranean Style Omelette
- Southern Style Cauli-rice Bowl
Quality: ★ ★ ★
They excel in their use of local, clean ingredients and products. They advertise trying to use as many organic ingredients as possible, along with sustainable sourcing of foods. We saw an extensive listing of locally sourced food items. In fairness, often local produce is organically grown, but they do not certify as organic due to costs, so this is possible. They also seem to be committed to recycling through their stated use of all recyclable materials for their carry out menu items.
Their lunch menu carries wild salmon and grass fed burgers, which are the highest quality protein available. I would love to come back for their wild salmon.
We did not see many organic ingredients listed on the menu. We were told that they recently updated their vegetable oil to a high quality virgin olive oil. We were also advised after our original posting that their water is indeed filtered. We were happy to hear of these positive changes in quality.
Atmosphere: ★ ★ ★
The atmosphere is very casual and comfortable. It is centered around a bar area, with a few tables, but several stools. We sat on stools, overlooking Cherokee Street.
Service: ★ ★
The service was prompt and friendly. We visited on a Sunday during a busy time.
Price: $$ The prices were reasonable for the quality of food, $10 or under for brunch items and $10-15 for lunch entrees.
Location: The restaurant is located in the city on Cherokee, near other fantastic eateries including I Scream Cakes.
