Ice’s Plain and Fancy is a fairly new, locally owned ice cream shop. They are very unique in the fact that they make their ice cream right in front of you using liquid hydrogen. They get their milk from a local farm in Missouri and they also offer vegan ice cream made with coconut milk, in case you have a dairy allergy!
They do not use organic ingredients, but coconut milk is generally a higher quality food, especially when compared to soy or other types of dairy substitutes that are popularly used in dairy free ice cream. They rate a 3 out of 5 stars from the Green Dining Alliance which is above standard rating for sustainable practices. Plus, their ice cream is delicious!
