After seeing a booth from I Scream Cakes at the Saint Louis Fair Festival this past summer and trying a delicious vegan, gluten free, AND organic ice cream cone, I have been dying to visit their store and see what they have to offer! We were so excited to discover this local ice cream shop and enjoyed tasting their delicious treats! It was a fun end to a day of eating and walking around the Botanical Gardens!

Miriam and I visited this local eatery on a Sunday AM when we were in the Webster Groves area. This restaurant focuses on local ingredients and seems to do a lot for the community in terms of fund raisers and their community involvement. If in the area, we would recommend this restaurant because of these good practice attempts, along with the tasty food. (Michelle)

We tried this urban Saint Louis Restaurant on a Sunday for a late brunch, enjoying eggs served baked and over hard. Their use of local, farm raised chicken eggs and produce was impressive. We enjoyed getting a glimpse of one of their farms and green houses across from the restaurant, as well as viewing their garden supplies, produce and plants in their adjacent store. It was a restaurant we had long wanted to check out so enjoyed the adventure of trying a place clearly devoted to growing and using their own local produce.

Or Juice and Smoothie is a great place to stop for an organic juice or smoothie, or quick high quality salad or snack. The majority of ingredients are organic and the owners seem to be aware of health foods, carrying several high quality supplements and food supplies in their store.

We stopped by for lunch on a Sunday afternoon. This local eatery has recently expanded to provide some nice seating for guests. Their first expansion was in December 2013 and their 2nd was this past summer, 2014. The place was bustling, and the food was quite good. This is an all vegetarian restaurant and they had several gluten free and vegan items which we were thrilled about. This restaurant was definitely another winner and we will be back again!

We have been meaning to go to YaYa’s for months now because we have heard so many raving reviews about their delicious and high quality food. My dad was out of town for the week so we took advantage of having a night with just the two of us. We enjoyed our relaxing date night out and got to spend time chatting with the manager and learning all about the restaurant and their mission. (Miriam)

Hannah came into town for her fall break last week and we planned another girls day for the three of us. We went to Grant’s Farm in the morning and had so much fun feeding the goats and camels. By the time we were done looking at all the animals we were starving, so not having anywhere to eat we turned to Google. Seedz Cafe was the first restaurant that popped up when we searched for organic restaurants so we thought we would try it out. It turned out to be an adorable little organic and vegan cafe style restaurant that had the highest quality food we have found so far. This one was a definite winner and we can’t wait to go back! A friend of mine suggested this restaurant when my husband and I joined them for dinner one night before a musical. She knew I liked organic food and thought I would enjoy it. She hit the target with her suggestion. My husband and I enjoyed the food and the prices. My husband is always “in a hurry,” so he loved the fast food nature of the restaurant. This is great food to go or when in a hurry, as well as when you want to linger and enjoy good quality food with family or friends. I have since been here a couple of times with my “girl” team, Hannah and Miriam and have enjoyed their quick, fresh food.

Knowing about our love for natural foods, a friend of ours introduced us to Prasinos after a positive dining experience there with her family. It was my last weekend home for the summer and we decided to stop there for lunch on our last girls day together. We spent time exploring downtown St. Charles and enjoyed a wonderful lunch.
