Nordstrom Bistro Cafe is a little hidden gem inside several Nordstrom stores around Saint Louis malls. We were lucky to come across this restaurant while shopping at the Galleria one day and were thrilled with what we found! This is definitely a step up from the food court options you usually find in the malls.

When we went to Nordstrom’s Cafe Bistro we shared the Fresh Berry and Fig Salad with Goat Cheese. It was made with organic greens, blackberries, raspberries, dried figs, candied almonds, and goat cheese, and served with a very unique vanilla bean vinaigrette. The flavor combination of the sweet fruit with the creamy tang of the goat cheese was perfect. The vanilla bean dressing actually made it taste like a desert! This is really a dream come true- a salad that tastes like vanilla ice cream. Where else can you find that?
Quality ★★
Bistro Cafe advertises using local, sustainable, natural, organic, and eco-friendly products. They use BGH free milk, cage free eggs, organic greens, local produce when possible, organic iced tea, and they try their best not to serve food with hydrogenated oils. Although it doesn’t seem like they have a lot of organic options on the menu, many of their salad are made with organic lettuce.
As far as their environmental awareness, they compost and recycle, use compostable paper cups, napkins, and carry out containers made with recycled materials, and their menu’s are printed on paper made partly with post-consumer waste.

The Bistro Cafe has a very classy and cozy feeling to it. Since it’s in the mall it’s meant for anyone who happens to be walking by. It has nice wood ceilings and dim modern lights which make it really comfortable. There is also an open counter where you can see the chef preparing the food, which is really neat.
Service ★★★★★
This is a restaurant where you order and pay at the front and the food is brought out to you. You do have a waiter though because after they bring our your food they continue to check up on you and bring anything else you need. The workers were friendly and proud of their restaurant, and happy to talk about what they loved most. Overall, good restaurant with organic and sustainable practices and we hope to return to try out more menu items!
