Miriam and I visited this local eatery on a Sunday AM when we were in the Webster Groves area. This restaurant focuses on local ingredients and seems to do a lot for the community in terms of fund raisers and their community involvement. If in the area, we would recommend this restaurant because of these good practice attempts, along with the tasty food. (Michelle)
Overall Rating ★★
Food ★★
Miriam and I both ordered the Grilled Vegetable and smoked Gouda Omelet. We substituted fruit salad for the biscuit and breakfast potatoes that are usually served with it. I also ordered a hot tea and was able to pick from a nice box full of assorted organic teas. I decided on the rooibos tea, which Miriam tasted and discovered to be her new favorite!
Their menu was marked with items that were vegetarian, gluten free, and available gluten free if requested. They have a range of options from eggs and pancakes to soups, salads, and sandwiches.
The eggs were simple and tasty. They had cooked carrots mixed in with them, which was a unique veggie to find in an omelet but it worked surprisingly well! Instead of regular cheese in the middle there was a cheese sauce on top. The cheese sauce added a little bit of sweetness, and had an interesting flavor, but I personally prefer the more traditional omelet. The fruit seemed fresh and tasted great!
Although we tend to be those people that get the same thing every time we go back to a restaurant, I would probably try something different next time. Not to say that it wasn’t good, (because it was) but I think I would prefer something a little more traditional off of their menu!

Quality ★★★
The restaurant proudly shares information on local sources of food ingredients in their menu and website. However, the staff was unable to verify any details about the food quality when we asked, so we were unable to find out more specific information regarding the quality of their restaurant. We fielded questions to both our waitress and the manager, along with leaving our phone number for someone to call us back but received no follow up contact.
Their motto seems to be “locally sourced, naturally raised,” so we know they are aware of their food quality. Their website says that their chicken is from Buttonwood Farms, which has pastured chickens that are fed an all natural diet. Their pork is from Geisert Farms, where they are antibiotic free, pastured, and never given growth hormones. Their website states that their eggs are cage free from local farms, but does not specify what farms, and all of their bread is homemade from Breadsmith, containing no additives or preservatives.
Blue Sky also publicizes their commitment to recycling and composting. They recycle glass, paper, cardboard, metal, and plastics with Allied Waste single stream services. Their wine corks are given to the Rewind Your Wine program, which recycles corks into reusable materials.

Atmosphere ★★★★
The restaurant had a nice ambiance with pretty decorations, furnishing and lighting. The decor included some beautiful art pieces including stained glass mosaics and a lot of wine glasses!
Service ★★
The service was good. The waitress was friendly and did try to answer our questions, but clearly was not familiar with the quality of the restaurant’s foods.

The brunch and lunch menu averages around $10, and you could eat dinner there for anywhere between $12 to $25 depending on what you order.
